Update on Trial Assembly at Ash River William Miller from the couch Assembly Team doing all the work March 1st, 2017v2 proto
Cable Update We are starting to make some process on cable management and location of cable trays • Matt has shipped a single set of CE cables-We have enough “misc.” cables to mock up the other bundles • PD folks have located the proper cable, so we could purchase it but we have to buy a 1000’ roll ($1100) so we are just going to use free CAT6 cable but constrain it in a way that uses the same bend radius • Starting to get some cable tray design information proto 2 March 1st, 2017

Cable Management Concept proto 5 March 1st, 2017
Cable Management Requirements • Cables (13.5m-10 cables) for PD system are installed first-Keep separated from Cold Electronics cables as much as possible • LV and Data Cables (7m-20 bundles of each type) for the cold electronics are installed second and must be routed over or thru front of cable tray • All cables need to be organized so that differential lengths are secured in the cable tray and the feed- thru “umbilical” exits from the middle of the APA. • Organize the cables to keep a balanced load to minimize any on the APA • In the cleanroom the entire set of cables need to be held in these trays • Trays design need to be narrow enough to make it into Cold Box • Trays need to allow access to change out a cold electronics box if needed, cables are pre-attached so the entire cable would also be replaced • It is possible to have a separate tray that supports the umbilical that is located on the Bridge Beam once inside the cryostat to support the run to the feed-thru. • Cables should be keep in liquid proto 6 March 1st, 2017
Sketch of concept for cable routing Cable tray can Only service length is stored be used here to in feed thru Tray mounted to I – beam. Length bridge to the contingency is stored here. Also feedthru allows for APA plane to translate to the right 20cm on Bridge Beam E Tray mounted to APA. “Differential” length is stored here. proto 7 March 1st, 2017

What we have at Ash River 104mm 40mm We have a slightly different APA head tube than the final design proto 10 March 1st, 2017
More Ash River Pictures 62mm 115mm We need to confirm that the total of 219mm from the bottom of the SS beam to the top of the electronics Box is correct we seem to have more room proto 11 March 1st, 2017
Cable tray should not be a problem 130mm 117mm This should fit thru the Cold Box easily door, we may have to add the latch later proto 12 March 1st, 2017
More new cable information • A cable or two connecting the lower field cable resistor chain to the FC termination board mounted on the top if the APA should be run when the PD cables are run. They need to be isolated from the PD cables • There are 8 lemo sized bias cables that also run from the CE boxes back to the feed thru. Small but we should understand where they run • Bias cable: RG316 with SHV connectors proto 13 March 1st, 2017
