Miro Cellars Freedom of Expression Petite Sirah 2012 Petite Sirah The shortest way to describe the wine would be “dark and delicious.” Undoubtedly Petite Sirah in its core, but with refined and balanced tannin and—surprising for Petite Sirah—softness. Loads of blueberry and blackberry on the nose followed by toasty oak, cinnamon, brown sugar and dark molasses. The mouth feel is big and juicy, extracted but not heavy, finishing with fresh acidity and sense of balance.
Miro Cellars Freedom of Expression zinfandel 2012 Zinfandel Finding and producing the ultimate Zinfandel has been my passion for over 20 years. A viscous and juicy wine that does not require a lot of aging to please you. Ripe without going overboard, the wine is loaded with the “essence” of Zin—wild berries, dark cherries and strawberries typical for Dry Creek Zins. The oak contributes aromas of spice, toast and slight vanilla- chocolate with a bit of a brown sugar. On the palate the wine is full, soft and finishes fresh and juicy. 420 cases made.
Miro Cellars Freedom of Expression RESERVE 2012 Reserve Zinfandel Wolcott Vineyard This is the inaugural bottling from Wolcott-Bevill as a Single Vineyard Reserve. The vineyard is situated in the middle of Dry Creek valley on a southwest facing slope. This rich and satisfying Zin shows classic varietal flavors of ripe red wild berries, fruit jam, tobacco and white pepper. The taste is rich with soft tannins leading to a grand finale. Enjoy now or age for another 3-5 years. 300 css made
Miro Cellars Freedom of Expression RESERVE 2012 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon This relatively young vineyard is planted nearly at the top of Pine Mountain at 2200 feet elevation above the valley of the Russian River. The moderate temperature inversion at that altitude supports softer, richer tannins in the wine, concentrated wild berry aromas and enhanced varietal-specific flavors of dark fruit, slight earthiness and subtle spices. 300 cases made.
Miro Cellars Freedom of Expression Cuvée Sasha 2012 Cuvée Sasha 75% of the grapes in this classic GSM blend are grown in Montelago Vineyard planted above Clearlake and from Orsi Vineyard, Russian River Valley. What I love about Grenache is the seductively inviting aromas of jammy strawberries, dry apricots, guava and cranberry with hint of dry rose petals and Herbs de Provence that make you smell the wine over and over again. The mouth feel is clean, fresh and lively without any heaviness with focused acidity and food friendly softness. Cheers!
