A-G Requirements = Subject area ● Terms you requirements for admission to the UC/CSU system should be CC = California Community College ● familiar 112+ locations (largest in the nation) No minimum GPA with... CSU = California State University ● (23 campuses) minimum GPA is 2.0+ UC = University of California ● (9 campuses) minimum GPA is 3.0+ ● Private Universities = (200+ campuses) Requirements vary ● Trade Schools/Apprenticeships

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 1. 220 Credits are required for graduation 2. Graduation requirements must be completed at Aragon High School, District Summer School or through approved courses 3. Classes must be passed with a D- or higher 4. Students do not need to take 7 classes. If a student took 6 classes each year and passed all classes they would have 240 credits. They have cushion!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT AP COURSES Q: What does AP mean? A: Advanced Placement, a college-level course Q: How many AP classes should I take? A: Everyone is different, but students should be taking AP courses based on their interests and wanting to continually grow in a subject area. A full load in college in four classes. Think BALANCE! Q: Will I still get into a good college if I don’t take AP courses? A: YES! It’s not a competition. Base the college search off of best fit for you. Q: How much homework will I have in AP classes? A: More than 10th grade/AS classes! If you are staying up past Midnight doing homework this year, you should not overload yourself.

MATH ACCELERATION POLICY ● Aragon’s math department recommends that all math courses be taken at Aragon High School ● Students wishing to take an outside course to fulfill a prerequisite must get pre-approval from the math department chair and their counselor ● Students who qualify will be given information in their math classes. Teachers will meet with your student to discuss appropriate summer and fall 2020 placement.
