Univ. of Mississippi: Decades of HEP experience • Fermilab charm experiments E691, E769, and E791. UMiss built a muon scintillator wall at E791. Led to 7 papers. UMiss wrote 3 of the 7 papers on rare charm decay searches. D. Sanders, MPL A15, 1399; PLB462, 401; PRL 86, 3969. Built a UNIX computing farm in Mississippi for E791 in 1991. Reconstructed 1/3 of the E791 50TB, 20000 tape data set, more data than all previous HEP experiments combined. Offline computing became a vertex trigger. Led to 34 papers. S. Bracker et al., IEEE Trans. Nucl. Sci. 43 (1996) 2457. 28 Jan - 1 Feb 2019 L. M. Cremaldi (page 2) DUNE Collaboration Meeting U. of Mississippi–Oxford
Univ. of Mississippi: B Physics Work at B A B AR • Mississippi machined all CsI shapes in aluminum to 50 µ m. Trapezoidal shapes used to make carbon fiber CsI support. Contributed to a precision calorimeter with little dead space. Energy calibration with neutron activated liquid 16 N source J. Bauer, IEEE Trans. Nucl. Sci. 51 (2004) 1596 UMiss postdoc J.
