Primary ry Question • There is currently a reenergizing of anti-Semitism in Europe. • This contradicts the EU’s promotion of Tolerant and Multicultural values. • What factors have contributed to this reenergizing?
Theoretical Framework • Stephen Bronner’s: • The Bigot: Why Prejudice Exists • The Bigot is characterized by: • - a sense of once being privileged • - hatred to those that threaten their privilege • - utilization of stereotypes and conspiracy theories towards other groups
Methodology • An overlap of the demographic most susceptible to adopting Conspiracy Theories and supporters of Populist Eurosceptics. • The ‘Left Behind’ demographic :
Findings • Echoes of the ‘Great Replacement’ and ‘White Genocide’ conspiracy theories in populist Eurosceptic rhetoric. In International Im Impacts • The rhetoric and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories from Europe has global impacts.
Solutions Recommendations • Foster a sense of Community for the Left Behind of Europe and abroad. • Combat reenergizing of anti-Semitism with reenergizing of civic society . • Better ensure all members of society benefit and belong in our new globalized world.
