ROBUST FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE IN CHALLENGING MARKET ➤ T urnover: up by 2% to £3.1m ➤ Expenditure: up by 3% to £2.6m ➤ Operating surplus: down by 5% to £527k = positive cash flow of circa £400k ➤ Investment: Harbour wide CCTV • Boat mover, and dock repairs at Kingston Wharf • ➤ Annual Accounts on CHC website: cowesharbourcommission.co.uk •

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ➤ Successful delivery of CHC’s Strategic Plan 2016-2021, ensuring harbour facilities, services and growth are maintained for future generations, is dependent on the Commission continuing to deliver robust financial performances ➤ Surpluses are reinvested back into the harbour for the benefit of all stakeholders

FUTURE OF SHIPBUILDING AND MARINE EMPLOYMENT Vital for the future harbour and Island economy CURRENT SITUATION: ➤ Aluminium Marine Consultants (AMC) building will be demolished first quarter of 2019 ➤ Wight Shipyard Co. (WSC) Columbine building occupancy expires in May 2019 ➤ NO CURRENT MARINE SITES / FACILITIES DELIVERABLE WITHIN REQUIRED TIMELINE

FUTURE OF SHIPBUILDING AND MARINE EMPLOYMENT Vital for the future harbour and Island economy CHC ACTIONS TO DATE: ➤ CHC-led stakeholder group IWC, CHC, WSC / AMC, Red Funnel • ➤ Communications with MP Bob Seely ➤ Formal letter and proposal to Homes England (previously Homes and Communities Agency) ➤ WSC / AMC concerns raised with Homes England and East Cowes developer

Seeking extension of occupancy beyond May 2019 ➤ CHC has considered Island contingency delivery option
