Action Plan System Influence • The system will successfully influence the full continuum of trades training and regulation, including: P-12, bridging programs, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, post-journey training and regulation - Expand Youth Apprenticeship and Summer Employment Programs - Improve Career Decision Making and NSCC - Support Industry Training Fund and Blue Seal - Develop and Implement Trade Regulation Framework

Action Plan Employer Engagement • More employers will provide strategic direction to the system, hire more apprentices and engage more intentionally in their training - Board and Committee Leadership and Participation - Annual Industry Meeting - START program - Mentoring Resources - Procurement Initiatives - Enhanced Enforcement

Action Plan Inclusiveness • The system will successfully attract and retain more individuals from under-represented groups - Develop a Diversity Plan - Develop formal communication mechanisms - Develop outreach and bridging programs - Increase and enhance Joint Registration Agreements with First Nations and other groups - Work with employers to hire and provide welcoming workplaces

Action Plan Labour Market Responsiveness • The system will optimize and grow the resources it needs to meet labour market needs - Conduct a capacity study and develop a process for reallocating resources within the NSCC funding envelope - Develop and maintain trade profiles and other LMI for system leaders and users - Brand and market the new Agency - Continue mobility and harmonization initiatives

  9. Action Plan Successful Completion • The system will support apprentices to complete in a timely manner, gaining the depth and breadth of skills employers need - Increase the number of NSCC pre-apprentices moving on to apprenticeship - Increase quality training pathways for apprentices - Deploy internal resources more effectively to support the apprentice/employer relationship - Improve overall technical training capacity
