S5 Curriculum • Pupils study 8 or 9 subjects in S3/S4 • 5 subjects in S5 • Choose best 5 from S4 results • 6 periods per subject ( 3 doubles) • PE / PSHE / Elective (1 period each) • English - compulsory • Continuity and progression in S5 • Wide range of available subjects

Making the right choice All students study English plus 4 other subjects: • which are relevant to their chosen career; • in which they have achieved success; • which they have enjoyed; and • which provide a good balance if career is undecided. A minority of University/ College courses ask for specific named subjects . Most don’t.
