LANXESS CENTRAL PLANT SOUTH ARKANSAS: LANXESS operations in southern Arkansas cover 150,000 acres, 10,000 brine leases and 250 miles of pipelines. LANXESS extracts brine from their wells located throughout the area, and the brine is transported through a network of pipelines to to three plants where the brine is processed for bromine recovery with the tail brine then re- injected to the aquifer. The three bromine plants currently LANXESS SOUTHERN PLANT LANXESS WESTERN PLANT employ approx. 500 people, have been in production for greater than 5 decades, and process roughly 5.25 billion gallons of brine annually.
