(Will also give principals greater control over State SPS)  Replace “Attachment C - New Student Assignment Plan” w/ New school “Home Zones” that use existing campuses and improve projected integration of schools.  No Change to “Attachment D - M to M Transfer Policy” except where “pairing of schools” may need to be adjusted from time to time to further the cause of Integration.

  4. Key Elements Proposed Modifications to Order 876 (Continued)  Completely remove “Attachment I” as a condition for Unitary Status.  Utilizing the State’s New “JumpStart” Program, the System will expand Career Certification/ Dual Enrollment w/ Transportation Parish wide through additional classes at smaller high schools and additional partnerships with Career and T echnical Colleges in the Area.  Attempt to Increase and Expand JROTC Parish Wide.  Maintain Current Accelerated and Enhanced Programs Parish Wide.  Commit to quickly Implement Plan upon approval with specific strategy and timeline to provide Buildings, T echnology, Personnel and resources for timely and effective implementation.  Improve and Expand Current Interventions, Behavior, & Mental Health Services Parish Wide to ensure that our “High Risk Students” receive the resources they need regardless of the school they attend.  No student would be involuntarily removed (by virtue of a “Home Zone change) from the High School in which they were set to start High School, prior to the plans implementation.  Remove Provision that allows Out-of-Parish Transfers
