FOOD SUPPORT GRANT • The Food Support grant is made available through the New York State Department of Health Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP), which allocates lines of credit to participating programs that can be used to access donated or wholesale foods through Long Island Cares Food Bank. • HPNAP grant funds are designed to supplement and/or match a program’s own efforts. Funds should not be viewed as a sole means of support. Grants are awarded to Emergency Food Programs (EFP) through a line of credit with the Food Bank to purchase nutritionally desirable foods.
