Fili iling Fed ederal and St State Aid id Applications Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  2020-2021 FAFSA www.studentaid.gov o Complete a FAFSA as early as October 1 st every year. o CCNY Federal School Code is 002688 o Use prior-prior year’s income documents o (ex., 2018 Tax information, W- 2’s , or other income for 2020-2021 FAFSA Application) Once you complete the FAFSA Application, you will have a link to Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) to also complete the New York State Application. New York State Application - CCNY School Code is 1411  TAP Application https://www.hesc.ny.gov/ (i.e. NY residents only) using 2018 tax information . * Undocumented New York State Residents can apply only for NY State Aid directly on HESC at https://www.hesc.ny.gov/dream/ CITY COLLEGE IS

New York State Fin inancial l Aid id State Grants: https://www.hesc.ny.gov/  NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) (Currently TAP awards range from $500 to $5165.00/academic year – full-time)  Excelsior Scholarship (Current maximum Excelsior Scholarship is $2,750 per semester or actual tuition cost whichever is less. The scholarship will be reduced by other financial aid awards.)  Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) (Award maximum is $2000/year. An APTS award cannot exceed tuition charges.) Must complete the Supplemental Form on the CUNYfirst Student Services Center Tab by the 21 st day of the semester. Must be a New York State Resident to be eligible for TAP and Aid for Part-time Study. Undocumented students may apply for the Senator Jose Peralta New York State DREAM Act at https://www.hesc.ny.gov/dream

NYS TAP Grant Eli ligibility To be eligible for NYS TAP Grant, you must:  Be a United States citizen or eligible noncitizen OR an Undocumented Citizen who applied directly with HESC using the Senator Jose Peralta Dream Application  Be a legal resident of New York State, as defined by HESC rules  Have graduated from high school in the United States, earned a GED, or passed a federally approved " Ability to Benefit " test as defined by the Commissioner of the State Education Department before the 21 st day of the semester  Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student taking at least twelve (12) contributory credits per semester (classes must be contributory towards your program of study)  Declare/change a major, minor and/or concentration no later than the established date available on the Academic Calendar once you earn 60 credits  Meet Good Academic Standing requirements  Not be in default of a student loan guaranteed by HESC or on any repayment of state awards CITY COLLEGE IS

Submit all of your completed signed, dated verification forms, federal tax forms and other supporting income and documents *You must inform the Office if you use CUNYfirst to submit your documents.

Requestin ing Federal l Dir irect Lo Loans at t Th The City ity Coll llege of New York rk  CCNY does not auto package Direct Loans for Undergraduate students – student must request direct loans  All Undergraduate students interested in borrowing MUST complete a Direct Loan Processing Form  Borrow for the full year – think ahead instead of semester by semester. (If you owe or need $1,000 for fall, then most likely you would need $1000 for spring.
