Summary of Proposed Changes to 19.31.2 The proposed amendments would: •Increase points for hunting on private property without written permission from 10 pts to 17 pts •Increase points for falsely claiming military discount from 5 pts to 20 pts •Reinstate failure to have sufficient funds or stopping payment when purchasing a license to a 20 pt administrative violation •Clarifying language and standardizing time frames in the rule •Clarify language on wildlife violators compact suspensions
Summary of Proposed Changes to 19.31.2 The proposed amendments would: •Remove “certified conviction” •Remove “magistrate” •Clarify that any person who fails to appear on a citation can be suspended until in compliance with the court •Remove duplicate language regarding hearing procedures
Public Comments • The amended rule will continue to be posted to the Department’s website. • Public meetings were held in: • Las Cruces Thursday August 30 • Albuquerque Tuesday September 4 • Roswell Wednesday September 5 • Raton Tuesday September 11
Public Comments • As part of the public involvement process, four public meetings were held throughout the state. Two verbal comments were received. All comments received were concerned the fact that someone could possibly be revoked for hunting on private property without written permission even though the property is not required to be posted. • No written comments have been received through the web site.
Rule Making Timeline • Subsequent discussion - October 5 th meeting. • Publication - October 30 th • Final action - November 30 th meeting
