Camp Objectives • Putting our School Motto (Compassion, Conscience, Purity and Righteous) and Core Values (Care, Teamwork, Resilience, Excellence, Confidence, Integrity, Respect and Service) into action. • Hone social emotional competencies in our students in the area of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Management and Responsible Decision Making. • Build Esprit De Corp amongst our students and help them become better adjusted with their new class. • Enhance Teacher-Student Relationship (TSR). • Enhance Student-Student Relationship (SSR).

General Information Reporting Time 7.15 a.m. on 17 January 2019, Thursday Attire Come in PE t-shirt, track pants, school/sports shoes Dismissal Time 11.30 a.m. on 19 January 2019, Saturday at Gate 2 Transport Parents are to make the necessary transport arrangement to & from school (punctuality) Packing Use the camp packing list as a guide to pack your bag (issued on 4 January 2019, Friday) Label belongings For ease of identification, use a permanent marker to write your name on your belongings or attach labels/tags to them

  36. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  37. FAQ Is it all right for my child to attend the camp when he/she is sick in the morning of the first day of camp? It is best for your child to stay at home to rest. His/Her wellbeing is of utmost importance. Please ensure that the doctor issues a Medical Certificate (MC) that covers the duration of the camp. If your child is not issued an MC on the second day of camp and that he/she is feeling stronger and better, he/she can still join us in the camp. Parents can inform the staff at the campsite by calling the Emergency Number. Parents will have to make the necessary transport arrangement for your child to get to the campsite.

  38. FAQ What will happen if a student is found to be sick/injured in the camp? The student will be brought to the First Aid Post located within the campsite to access his/her situation. Parents will be updated on his/her condition. Our trained First Aiders will access the need for parents to bring him/her home to see a doctor.

  39. FAQ Will the meals served be sufficient in quantity and nutritional? Well-balanced meals, each comprises of food from 3 food groups, will be served. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper will be served during the camp stay. Each student can have a second helping only after every student has taken his/her first one. Students will be advised against overeating as it will affect their health.

  40. FAQ Are the activities safe? The campsite and activities are approved by MOE. The equipment and venue have been checked regularly by certified personnel to ensure the safety of the students. Certified personnel will also do a check before, during and after the completion of the activities.

  41. FAQ Will my child be safe at the campsite? The campsite and activities are approved by MOE. To ensure the safety of the students : • Security guards will be deployed • Night sentry will be arranged while the students are sleeping • The school staff and instructors will keep a look out for the students’ safety within the campsite Parents will be contacted immediately if the need arises.

  42. FAQ Can I visit my child at the camp site? Let us support and encourage our students to complete the camp independently. Parents are not allowed to enter the campsite. Parents are also strongly discouraged from visiting the campsite as it will distract the students and even affect their morale. In addition, he/she may feel homesick once they know you are around.

  43. FAQ Can my child hold on to his/her personal mobile phone? Your child is strongly discouraged from bringing personal mobile phone to the camp. He/She has the tendency to play games, call parents (homesick) or lose it. Teachers will definitely contact parents if the need arises. Once again, let us support our students and encourage them to complete the camp independently.

  44. FAQ Can parents have the contact number of the accompanying teacher so that they can contact him/her anytime to check on their children? We have to treat teacher’s personal information in strict confidence and hence we will not disclose his/her contact number. We will contact parents immediately if the need arises.   45. FAQ – Recent Enquiry Are the rooms air-conditioned? No. The rooms are well-ventilated and cool. Students are to sleep in sleeping bags (compulsory item) to keep themselves warm at night.

  46. FAQ Can students wear home clothes in the camp? Yes. Students will only report to school in their school PE t-shirt, track pants and school/sports shoes on the first day of the camp. Do assist in packing comfortable and proper clothes (home clothes) for your child. All P5 campers will also receive a red camp T-shirt.
