If the school is oversubscribed within its admissions number and/or enrolment number and has no places available, the names of children who have not yet been able to gain a place in the school through the normal processes will only be added to the waiting list on receipt of a written request from the parent/guardian. Should a vacancy arise, the children on the waiting list, (including children that were initially refused a place, new applications, and applications where new information has been provided) will be treated equally and the published Open Enrolment Admissions criteria applied. The waiting list for Primary 1 will operate from the date of notification by the schools/board advising parents of the primary school for which their child has been accepted/not accepted until the last day of term of the child’s Primary 1 year. Places for allocation from the waiting list will be considered five working days after the date of notification by the schools/board advising parents of the primary school for which their child has been accepted/not accepted. Should a request be received in writing after the five working days have elapsed, the child’s name will then be added to the school’s waiting list. The school and/or Education Authority will contact you in writing if your child gains a place in the school by this method. If at any time you wish to remove your child’s name from the waiting list please advise the school in writing.
