WE’VE GOT DATA! • Developing individual Year-at-a-Glance Data Reports for students using multiple data points • Teachers and administrators will be able to view student mastery of content from 2019-2020 using the Year-at-a-Glance reports to determine individual needs for summer support and beginning of the year support
SUMMER LEARNING IN INITIATIVE FOR ALL STUDENTS • All technology resources that have been distributed to students will be kept by students throughout the summer so all students can continue to access iNvest2Learn resources • Expanding our summer learning opportunities to be available for all students • Utilize the expertise of our teachers at each campus to offer learning opportunities throughout the summer
OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUMMER LEARNING Elementary: • Remote small group instruction for students needing additional support: • Dyslexia • Special Education (including ESY) • ELL (including Language Academy) • RtI • Paper packets for non-tech students • Virtual Book Clubs • Virtual Camps • Summer Bingo with Activities • Other possible enrichment / extension opportunities
OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUMMER LEARNING Secondary: • Remote small group instruction for students needing additional support • Dyslexia • Special Education • ELL • RtI • Virtual Book Clubs • Virtual Camps • Credit Recovery - HS • Original Credit – HS • Enrichment & incentives; real-world application to get many students engaged in learning throughout the summer
2020 2020-2021 August: • Kindergarten Round-Up • Elementary BOY DRA & Literacy Assessments before school begins • Welcome Back to School Events to reintegrate students & families back into the school setting • Kick Start (secondary) • Transition Camps (secondary)
2020 2020-2021 1st 9-weeks: • BOY Diagnostic assessments to identify present level of performance and to identify gaps • Small group instruction and/or interventions based on BOY Diagnostics • Adding mini-units at the BOY to cover units that were taught remotely • Focusing on power standards that were taught remotely in mini-units • Considering also adding a 3-week unit that will provide additional support with nonfiction reading (Elementary)
2020 2020-2021 Throughout the Year: • Protect and maximize instructional time to its fullest • Closely monitor systems for progress monitoring • Consistent focus on closing gaps quickly • Provide ongoing support and interventions to students who continue to demonstrate gaps in achievement • Continue our strong emphasis on Social-Emotional Needs of our students and staff
2020-2021 STUDENT SUPPORT SYSTEMS • Additional Reading Intervention Support (Dyslexia, ELL, At-Risk) • Additional RtI Support (Comp Ed & 504) • Additional Special Education Support • Includes evaluations still pending from closure
TEACHER SUPPORT SYSTEMS • Ongoing Professional Learning and support • Summer check-ins and support for teachers engaging in summer instruction
