Project Background ➢ Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with the Govt. of Nepal for the execution of 900 MW Arun – III HE Project on BOOT basis with a construction period of 5 years from date of financial closure of the project and operation period of 25 years. ➢ Project is located on river Arun in the Sankhuwasabha Distt. of Nepal, 657 Km from Kathmandu via Birat Nagar. ➢ SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd (SAPDC) was incorporated & registered on 25.04.13 as a private limited company under the Nepalese Companies Act 2063 duly floated by single shareholder company SJVN Ltd with an aim to plan, promote, organize & execute the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro-electric Project. ➢ Project Development Agreement (PDA) signed with IBN, GoN on 25.11.14.

Electro-Mechanical Works • Design and Drawings approval is in progress. • Model testing for turbine completed. • Purchase order for EOT Cranes to be installed in Power House has been placed. • Fabrication of under parts of turbine in BHEL’s Bhopal Unit is in progress.
Hydro-Mechanical Works • Design of all gates has been approved except Radial gate, stoplog for radial gate, flap spillway gate and stoplog for flap spillway gate. • Fabrication of trash rack and gates are in progress in M/s OMIL workshop at Kota.

Investment in Nepal • SJVN is going to invest around NPR 12,000 Cr. in next 5 years in Nepal on 900 MW Arun-3 Project.
Financial Closure • Total Project Cost : NPR 11,135 Cr. (Generation + Transmission Component) • Equity Portion : 30 % (NPR 3,340 Cr.) • Debt Portion : 70 % (NPR 7795 Cr.) o The Debt portion funding has been tied up.
