Objective of the presentation Share the updates of the implementation of NRDS as well as the rice-related interventions of the government and development partners. Also, inform participants the current position of NRDS in the overarching development / funding framework. This will form a basis for the subsequent discussion among the participants that gears toward identification of future interventions. 2. Duration of each presentation Maximum 20 minutes. As we wish to secure enough time for discussion, your kind cooperation to keep time is highly appreciated. 3. Media of presentation Microsoft Power Point is the preferred tool for presentation. Additionally, it is requested to use the relevant country pages of the CARD Website. 4. Presentation Format Each presentation shall present the contents in the following order. There will be 6 to 8 presentation pages and 2 pages on the web. a. Chronology (one slide)  Launching of NRDS, with dates and participating development partners  Mid-year Stakeholder Meeting (MSM), date and participating development partners b. Modality of implementation (one slide)  The list of stakeholders for implementation of NRDS, which was provided at the occasion of supporting meetings in October / November 2009 (see Annex 1 for the blank format) c. Constraints for implementation of NRDS (one slide) d. Current situation on rice-related intervention  List of on-going / recently-closed interventions (CARD

NRDS linkage with other development strategies (if applicable, two slides)  Applicable to Cameroon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mozambique, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Uganda in which IFAD Small Grant study was conducted  Describe the current situation of NRDS in the context of overarching development / funding framework as well as necessary actions to secure SUSTAINABLE investment from the Government and the development partners f. Future steps (one slide)  To conclude, revisit: i) the way to improve quality of NRDS implementation; ii) key intervention sub-sectors, and iii) steps taken to improve conformity of NRDS with overarching development framework and to secure more investment 5. Submission to the CARD Secretariat For the CARD Secretariat to deliver the presentation materials to the meeting participants, the electronic copy of the presentation shall be submitted to Ms. Sawako Nevin of the CARD Secretariat (snevin@agra-alliance.org) by Tuesday 4 May 2010.
