  2. Some context and draught beer challenges and problems for Brewers and draught beer venues:  Beer system hygiene  Brewers - How to compel customers to take ownership; to share the passion?  Venues - Chemical cleaning, safety, time, wastage vs. investment in quality.  Gas  Brewers - Are desired carbonation levels being maintained through to drinker?  Venues - Risks, unknowns, issues and hassles.  Beer system costs and complexity  Brewers and venues - Prohibitive capital outlays for draught beer systems.  Brewers and venues – System complexity and system ‘over - engineering’.  How do brewers fund systems and grow draught in RECA with such high capital outlays?  How do draught venues come to terms with such complex systems and deliver great beer?  Technical performance in the glass  Brewers and venues – The temperature ‘disconnect’.  Draught shines (flavour & foam performance) at 3 degrees c. + but dispensed at 0 c. 04-11-2015 2

  3. 1. Safety Coupler Asphyxiation is a risk for draught beer customers The key feature of the Micro Matic Safety Coupler is its CO2 shut-off design. In conventional keg couplers, O-rings are used to control the flow of CO2 which in practice means gas will flow whenever the handle is in the open position. With the Micro Matic Safety Coupler the flow is controlled by a revolutionary patented CO2 valve. • This CO2 valve will only allow gas to flow when the keg coupler is fitted to a keg extractor tube or cleaning bottle/cleaning adaptor. • The spring in the extractor tube will during activation create an upwards working force on the handle and this force will create a force on the hinge of the CO2 valve. As a result of this force of the hinge the CO2 valve will open and allow the gas to flow. Thus the risk of accidentally allowing CO2 to be exhausted into the atmosphere which is potential very dangerous in confined spaces, is eliminated. 16/03/16 3

  4. 1. Safety Coupler Handle Pin Connection The Safety Coupler handle is a stainless The handle of the Micro Matic safety The Safety coupler is designed to steel construction which can be supplied coupler is fitted with a locking pin which incorporate a quick fit cartridge. The connection can be supplied to take 3/8”, with a generic logo label or with can be mounted and dismounted without customers own branding. The handle is the need for tools. To fit the handle 10 mm or 8 mm OD tube size. The fitted with brass wheels as support points simply press the pin through the handle cartridge is a new development mounted for the coupler probe. 5. 1. Safety Coupler Gas connection: • Quick fit JG cartridge in 3/8”, 10 mm and 8 mm OD tubing. • New sensitive gas non return valve with a very low level of pressure drop during operation. Torpedo: The safety coupler is provided with a newly developed torpedo which reduces the beer left over in the spear. 16/03/16 5

  6. 1. Safety Coupler Main gasket: Guide Ring: The main gasket is designed to move within the body of The need for a lower probe O-ring has been eliminated in the Micro Matic Safety coupler. the new Safety Coupler design. This function will ensure that the main gasket seals off as The gas flow is controlled by the CO2 safety valve there is soon as gas pressure is present in order to eliminate beer no need for sealing off between the probe and the body. splash when activating the CO2 valve in the spear. The O-ring has been replaced by a plastic moulded guide ring which ensures that the probe is always centred during the operation and importantly reduces friction when operation the handle. The guide ring is made so that it allows the gas to pass when the CO2 safety valve opens for the gas flow. The guide ring is produced in a plastic type which reduces the risk for dried beer to stick to the surface. 16/03/16 6

  7. 1. Safety Coupler A quick word on costs and hygiene: unique market – We are the only market in the world where quick connect adaptors and check valves are incorporated into keg couplers as standard. An unnecessary layer of complexity and hygienic challenge and COST. + + = $155 - $210 + + A typical coupler complete with adaptors and check valves: Is not cleaned in line as part of the beer line cleaning process. X Is 3 - 4 times the cost of a Safety Coupler. X  Safety Coupler allows the gas and product lines to be directly plugged into the coupler thus ensuring that the coupler is chemically cleaned in line during cleaning process - Just as the brewer would expect. 16/03/16 7

  8. 2. Flexi-Draft Q. Why do we continue to put forward traditional, costly and complex dispense systems for small to medium size draught venues? Q. Will they consistently deliver the right quality in small and medium volume outlets? ? Problem areas • We believe these types of installation are no longer valid for outlets < 45HL/annum. • Too expensive - Too problematic - Too dangerous – Too much wastage – Too vulnerable to human error – .................................TOO HARD’ 16/03/16 8

  15. 3. Bevmate - T owards the ‘Holy Grail’ of draught dispense: 1,400 kegs filled and dispensed: Test-results – VLB • Beer quality - Fine pored foam and 4 - 5 Minutes retention • Storage/Transport - 4 layers of containers without any issues • Tapping unit - Easy to operate and easy to handle Test-results Weihenstephan Technische Universität München • Foam stability, Turbidity, Color in line with steel-keg • Unchanged pouring and drafting performance Wissenschaftszentrum Weihenstephan für Ernährung, Landnutzung und Umwelt • Continuous Testing >9 month storage / 28°C • CO2 loss < 5% by diffusion (0.2g/l CO2 after 10 month) • O2 increase <100µg/l after 10 month 16/03/16 15

  16. 3. Bevmate - T owards the ‘Holy Grail’ of draught dispense: Purely mechanical / No pressure gas No pressurized gas needed No chemical cleaning of beer lines No contact between drink and pressurized gas:  Constant CO 2 content of the drink  Dispensing pressure clearly above equilibrium pressure  no additional carbonation  No individual pressure setting needed  Beer to the consumer as the brewer intended Container pressure-less after emptying No risk if empty container is not or improperly released 16/03/16 16

  17. 3. Bevmate - T owards the ‘Holy Grail’ of draught dispense: Functionality of the drafting unit  Positioning of the beer line and the container  Safety checks completed and the tray moves up and presses the container against the piston  The needle of the beer line penetrates the container cap.  The tray stops when maximum pressure is reached.  As beer is poured, the pressure reduces and a sensor activates the motor which drives the spindle ensuring optimum dispensing pressure  When keg is empty the gas exits through the tap and pressure rapidly decreases:  The system resets itself and is ready for the next keg  The emptied, rolled-up and pressure less container can be safely removed and disposed of. One-way beer line  Pure taste  Significantly extended shelf life when on tap  Trouble free and efficient dispensing 16/03/16 17
