DLR Sports Participation – Irish Sports Monitor High-level results on participation in sport and physical activity of 811 adults (aged 16+) resident in DLR during 2015 and 2017.  Level of participation relatively higher than other Counties  Convenience and access is key  Facilities not perceived to be the major barrier to participation  Team sports don’t feature as prominently in men and women  Variety and diversity of sport should be nurtured  Need to understand how the population profile is changing  Inequalities in physical activity & health  Maintaining participation levels / increasing them  Promoting participation throughout the life-course
