2013-2017 Actions Summary Participation Programmes & Events – over 20,000 Participants dlr Community 5K, Operation Transformation, Bike Week, Woodlands For Health, Active Dance etc. Training & Development – 4,300 Volunteers/Coaches Child Protection, Club Development Seminars, Sports First Aid, Coaching Children, Sports Leader etc. Disability Sport – over 1,600 Participants Sportshall Athletics, NRH Spinal Championships, Enjoy Tennis, Club Support/Training, Cycle Skills Training

DLR Sports Participation – Irish Sports Monitor High-level results on participation in sport and physical activity of 811 adults (aged 16+) resident in DLR during 2015 and 2017. Level of participation relatively higher than other Counties Convenience and access is key Facilities not perceived to be the major barrier to participation Team sports don’t feature as prominently in men and women Variety and diversity of sport should be nurtured Need to understand how the population profile is changing Inequalities in physical activity & health Maintaining participation levels / increasing them Promoting participation throughout the life-course
