Listing Electives List your electives in preferential order! We utilize your alternate electives if we are unable to give you your top 7 choices. This may happen if you have a conflict in your schedule once our master schedule is developed. Make sure the alternate electives you list are courses you would like to take b/c you may very well have one or more of these courses. Also, list 1 semester courses as well as full year courses. If you don’t want the possibility of having the course, don’t list them as an alternate elective.

GPA Exempt Courses Starting with the class of 2017, FBISD will allow juniors and seniors to • participate in the third and fourth years of the following courses on a GPA- exempt basis: Yearbook o Athletics o Band o Cheerleading o Choir o Color Guard o Debate o Dance Team o JROTC o Orchestra o Theatre o Agriculture o Applications will be available in the Counseling Office in April.
AP vs. Regular vs. Dual Credit
Remember! • Carefully choose your classes – courses and levels • Listen to your teachers regarding level choice recommendations • Level changes do not begin until week 4 of the new school year. Students are expected to seek support from their teachers prior to a level change. • Students experiencing success (maintaining a C or better) should remain in the class for the semester.

What happens if you don’t submit a course selection sheet? • Your counselor will choose all courses for you with NO option to change at a later date for ANY reason. You will be disappointed when you are taking classes that you did not choose yourself. • If you care about your courses, submit the course selection and verification sheets during your lunch anytime between February 1st-24 th . The due date is February 24th .
Course Request Changes CHANGE DATES • The last day for students to make changes to the courses they selected will be June 2, 2016. • No elective course changes will be made after June 2, 2016.
Reminders: Sign up for a course, not a teacher! • Sign up as if summer school does NOT exist. Once you take a • summer school course, your course selection options will be adjusted You must have: • 18 credits to be considered a senior!! (26 credits to graduate)
ONLINE COURSE SELECTION • Once you have filled out your course selection sheet, you will log-on to the family access page located on the Fort Bend ISD website. • Your log-in and password are the same as you use on the computer at school. • You will attach a computer printout of your choices to your blue course selection sheet.
