DAY 1 / LJUBLJANA APT-LJUBLJANA In Ljubljana, the old meets the new, a picturesque blend of Medieval, Baroque and Art Nouveau masterpieces. Set in this “Little Vienna” are the unique contributions of architect Joze Plecnik, whose striking structures combine elements of classic Greek and Roman architecture. Tour major sites in the city centre and ride the funicular to the Ljubljana Grad (the grand castle overlooking the city). Walk Plecnik’s Triple Bridge, Columned Marketplace, a long the banks of the Ljubljanica, visit St. Nicholas Cathedral and Preseren Square. 8 8

DAY 2,3 – BLED-BOHINJ In the afternoon arrive in Bled and accommodate in Triglav hotel. Bled is a town in northwestern Slovenia in the region of Upper Carniola. The area within the Julian Alps is a popular tourist destination. Bled is known for the glacial Lake Bled, which makes it a major tourist attraction. Perched on a rock overlooking the lake is the iconic Bled castle. The town is also known in Slovenia for its vanilla-and-cream pastry called kremna rezina or kremšnita . The second day take a sightseeing tour of Bled, and visit the only island in Slovenia-Bled island, take a ride in the gondola like Pletna boat and enjoy in the sights from Bled castle. In the afternoon drive to Bohinj and visit Savica waterfall- one of the most famous and popular waterfalls in Slovenia and it is also a spring. The great poet France Preseren enternalized this waterfall in the poem "Krst pri Savici “ . The water sinks 500 m above in the mountains and comes through the vertical underground channels to the horizontal tunnel and from it as the top of the 78 m high waterfall, one part of the water sinks in a tunnel again and comes out as a 25 m high waterfall - left part of the Savica waterfall. After that take a funicular ride to Vogel mountain, which rises above Lake Bohinj and offers beautiful sights of the lake and surrounding mountains. 10 10

DAY 4 / BLED-KOBARID (PARENTS TOUR) Depart from Bled in the morning and drive over Vrsic pass to Kobarid. Enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding sights along the way. Arrive in Kobarid, a town with a countryside rich with the natural and historical sights. Beautiful mountain peaks, Soca river and waterfalls in a wild gorges... Kobarid is famous for one of the biggest alpine battles in the I. world war (known as Carporetto). About 600,000 men were mobilized. The battle is well documented in the museum in the centre of Kobarid. The museum won a Council of Europe award in 1993. Drive to Hisa Franko where you will participate (optional) in a cooking course and learn to cook a delicious meal. 13 13

DAY 5 – KOBARID/GORISKA BRDA (PARENTS TOUR) After breakfast take a drive to Goriska Brda, the wine producing district of western Slovenia. It’s rolling landscape and hilltop villages are home to more than 200 wine producers. Stop at Bjana winery to discover the age-old traditions of viticulture in the region and enjoy wine tasting at the Movia and Kabaj winery. 15 15

DAY 6 /GORISKA BRDA/KARST/PORTOROZ We take a morning drive to the Karst region, also known as Slovenia’s Tuscany. This is home to the Karst prosciutto and Teran red wine. Visit historical Stanjel, a picturesque village that attracts many artists. It is a Karsts settlement, which is disposed in terraces towards the 363 m high Turn hill. The features of Stanjel are narrow streets with houses built from a stone bricks. Continue to the Lipica stud farm, the origin of the Lipizzaner Horse with over four centuries of tradition breeding and selecting these thoroughbred horses. Stroll through Portoroz, once a summer residence of the Austrian-Hungarian elite, now a modern tourist resort . 17 17

DAY 7 / PORTOROZ-PIRAN-POSTOJNA-PODCETRTEK (PARENTS TOUR) After breakfast, visit the town of Piran, which has preserved a medieval layout with narrow streets and compact houses, giving the area a typical Mediterranean look. It is also the hometown to Giuseppe Tartini, a violinist, composer and music pedagogue, who wrote over 300 compositions, many of which belong to the finest musical creations of the 18th Century. After visiting Piran enjoy a boat trip along the Slovenian coast. Experience the production of salt in a traditional manner and witness the bird life of the Secovlje saltpans. In the afternoon drive to Postojna. In Postojna we visit the famous Postojna Cave, which is the largest known cave system in Slovenia. A visit to the caves deserves full attention due to the diversity of shapes, expansive cave areas, stalactite and stalagmite formations and water characteristics. What is especially noteworthy is that most of these various shapes and formations can be seen by every visitor, meaning tourists and not just cavers with special caving equipment.
