� The overall purpose of this event is to support stakeholder to obtain European findings for Research & Innovation activities and to prepare it for Horizon 2020. � Horizon 2020 is focusing on SME. This is a message that SME must heard but also the others stakeholders (universities, research centers, large companies…) to get access � This event is organized to simplify to the minimum the application process for SME and hence to others stakeholders by: - Reducing the administrative effort of proposals building, - Reducing the time effort allocated to proposals building. 3

� This event is one step in the modus operandi the NCPs have set to accompany you in the European Funding journey and to reduce to the minimum your effort. � The Modus Operandi is based on a succession of steps separated by go/no go decisions : - The first step was filling up the collaboration profile on the platform - The second step was booking the meetings online - The third step was to come here. � The next steps will be the different meetings you will have this day, the different collaboration buildings and mainly the participation to the European brokerage event in Vilnius the 6-8 November 2013. 4

� This event is organised in complementarity with the ICT Conference in Vilnius. � As SME in the greater region, the participation to ICT conference can be difficult due to resources needed: - Vilnius is 1600km away from Luxembourg - ICT 2013 is expected to welcome more than 4000 participants - The conference will last 3 days. � This event today is justly to help you to put yourself in the spotlight in Vilnius and facilitate the next steps for SMEs. 5

� The expectations of this event are diverse but concrete: - At the end of the day, we do not expect already complete consortia. We expect beginning of consortia (2 maybe 3 partners) who are ready to work together - At the end of the day, we do not expect a complete project with a clear and precise idea of the work related. We expect a broad idea of the project, not completely determined but with the general direction agreed between partners. - At the end of the day, we expect you to come back to us, the NCPs or the EENs, so that we can deploy the complete panel of NCP services in supporting your proposal buildings � The final propose of this day is to make you more attractive in Vilnius by: - Making you participate as a beginning-of-consortium and not alone - Having already an idea of the expertise missing that you will need to find at European level. 6
