Expectations - Homework  15 minutes a night  Reading daily with an adult  Weekly spellings (Friday to Friday)  CGP Maths Books – one page a week (there will be a schedule in the front of the book so you are aware of which page to do – please do not race ahead).  CGP Comprehension - one page a week (there will be a schedule in the front of the book so you are aware of which page to do – please do not race ahead).  Unfortunately, if these books are lost, there will be a charge or expectation that they are replaced.

  5. Expectations - PE  Children are expected to have their full PE kit in school each day.  PE kits will be sent home at the end of each half term.  PE days: 2R – Wednesday & Thursday 2P – Wednesday & Thursday 2G – Monday & Tuesday In the Spring Term the children will have swimming lessons as one of their PE sessions.

  6. Equipment Newspaper (to cover the tables for art)  Old shirt or apron for art  recorders  If there’s anything coming up that we need, we will send out a parent mail - Food  magazines for art. If anyone has any old games / Lego for wet play, these would we greatly  appreciated.

Assessment How we assess pupils work at St Joseph’s  Against NC learning objectives for each subject  Children need to be meeting a certain amount of objectives in order to be Meeting  ARE expectations by the end of the academic year Children’s progress is tracked and discussed at progress meetings  Evidence from children’s books  Formative – AFL ( questioning, checking understanding, thumbs up, RAG cards  etc..). Marking policy and symbols used Summative – tests and tasks  Data drops – autumn term, spring term, summer term- reported to parents at  parents evenings and on end of year reports. All children are working towards (W) at the beginning of the year as each year  group curriculum expectations are different.
