Transparency (March 2014 to end-March 2015) 1,790 notifications of new/modified SPS measures 265 notifications identified animal health as the objective of the SPS measure being taken 743 notifications identified protection of humans from zoonoses or plant pests as the objective the SPS measure being taken 152 notifications identified an OIE standard as relevant
Private Standards SPS Committee adopted five actions dealing with (i) definition of the scope of the discussions on SPS-related private standards and (ii) promotion of information exchange among various entities, incl. between SPS Committee and the OIE, Codex and IPPC (G/SPS/55) Ongoing: an electronic working group was established in 2013 to develop a working definition of SPS-related private standards, with China and New Zealand serving as "co- stewards"(G/SPS/W/283)
