What is Diversity? A mosaic of people who bring a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, styles, perspectives, values and beliefs as assets to the groups and organizations with which they interact.
Diversity makes a company stronger! A diverse environment is one that includes people from different gender, various backgrounds and identities, who have a variety of interests, beliefs, skills, and opinions, and acknowledges that how we view these differences can impact the fair treatment of people within that environment.

Through our FREE consultation and professional development services, WRDC works one-on-one with stakeholders to develop long lasting and systematic diversity practices by assessing their individual needs and developing customized recommendations and supports.

Professional Development Workshops • Valuing & Managing Diversity for Supervisors and Managers (1 day): Interactive session for managers, supervisors, and HR professionals that provides a solid understanding of what diversity is, how companies can benefit from it, and how to effectively manage it within their organizations; Content focuses on effective communication and management best practices for a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day) Diversity management is a business strategy aimed at tapping the full potential of all employees in the organization with the goal of achieving a competitive advantage. 1-day Workshop includes: • Self assessments • Personal objectives • Comprehensive guide book • Exercises, discussion questions, and group activities • Action Plan template
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day) This diversity workshop for managers and supervisors will: • provide supervisors with an understanding of workplace diversity issues; • outline the four cornerstones of diversity: awareness, understanding, acceptance, and behaviour; • provides recommended behavioral tools for fostering a more cohesive workplace; and • demonstrate how to adopt a management style that encourages diversity an creates a culture of inclusion.
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day) Workshop themes include • defining diversity and inclusion in the workplace and how it affects the organization and individuals; • identifying stereotypes, harassment, discrimination, and workplace bullying; • learning about the importance of communication and use of inclusive language; • pitfalls to avoid; and • managing diversity skills and strategies.
Managing a Diverse Workforce (1 day) By the end of this training, participants should be able to: • describe the four cornerstones of diversity: awareness, understanding, acceptance and behaviour; • identify levels of self-awareness and opportunities for improvement; • recognize how changes in the world can affect them and their views; • explain appropriate word choice and the impact of communication; • recognize stereotypes; • identify the pitfalls related to diversity and how to avoid them; • effectively deal with inappropriate behavior; and • adopt a management style that encourages diversity and inclusion.
