Ecclesiastes 4 1 Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun… 4 And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbor…. 8 There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother…This too is meaningless— a miserable business!
Ecclesiastes 4 4 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work… 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 5 1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God… 4 When you make a vow to God…fulfill your vow. 7 Therefore stand in awe of God.
Ecclesiastes 5 18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him… 19 this is a gift of God.
Ecclesiastes 6 3 A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.
Ecclesiastes 7 2 It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart.
Ecclesiastes 8 12 Although a wicked man commits a hundred crimes and still lives a long time, I know that it will go better with God-fearing men, who are reverent before God.
Ecclesiastes 9 7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. 8 Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.
Ecclesiastes 9 9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun— all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun. 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
