  7. CITY OF WINDSOR FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT Firefighter recruitment is handled by the City of Windsor’s Human Resources Department.   8. FIREFIGHTER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS At time of application, an individual must: Be 18 years of age Possess an Ontario Secondary School graduation diploma or equivalent Be legally entitled to work in Canada Windsor Fire & Rescue Services www.windsorfire.com

  11. WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST (CPS), WRITTEN ASSESSMENT TEST (OS), PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST The City of Windsor secures the services of an outside provider to administer these tests. The previous service provider selected was Gledhill-Shaw Enterprises.   12. WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST (CPS), WRITTEN ASSESSMENT TEST (OS), PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST All eligible candidates are given the opportunity to participate in the testing components. Candidates are responsible for the administration fees associated with the testing components. Candidates are provided with information governing the process to be followed and particulars of the testing segments. WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST (CPS) (Cooperative Personnel Services Test) This Written Aptitude Test assesses the candidate’s knowledge, skills and aptitudes necessary to succeed as a firefighter in today’s environment. A series of questions, divided into sections, gauge the candidates’ understanding of written and oral information, arithmetic reasoning, maps, diagrams and mechanical drawings. A series of questions are asked relating to specific emergency scenarios and workplace environment, as well as basic mathematical and logical reasoning. The series of tests assess the job specific task performance, as well as the fitness of candidates by incorporating tasks that model the work of firefighters. Administrative fees will be established and applicants will be required to pay these fees in order to participate in the required Firefighter Fitness Assessment (Physical Agility Test).   18. FIREFIGHTER FITNESS ASSESSMENT The City of Windsor reviews the specific test requirements needed and secures a service provider who would be able to administer applicable testing to candidates.
