Wild Ways Well By Ryan Bryce
Introduction Wild Ways Well is a project which was introduced to us by Paul and Rebecca. The project focusses on helping us : Connect with the Environment, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give Back. One way we did this was by carrying out scientific surveys.
Water Quality One session was about investigating water quality at St Maurice’s Pond. First we had a nature walk and then we investigated the pond. We tested how clean the water was by catching and identifying different organisms living in it.
Water Quality In addition to identifying species we were also interested in taking water samples and testing the pH of the water. By doing this we could identify if the water was acid or alkaline.
Nature ID We used Classification keys to identify the different trees in our local woods. We also looked for evidence of air pollution by examining the types of lichen on the trees. We used recording sheets to record the wildlife and plants we found around the pond.
Thank You very much for Listening!
