DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING Data Processing Objectives • Develop Planning Area Geography Logical groupings of parcels within attendance areas • Develop Student and Birth Counts by Planning Area Review and assign in-District unmatched records to planning areas • Develop Enrollment Projection Model Using Planning Area Counts
DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING Spatial Planning Parameters for Defining Planning Areas • Limit number of planning areas to manageable number • Identify planning areas to contain concentrations of students Neighborhoods Subdivisions Apartment complexes • Use parcel and street centerlines as boundaries • Keep planning areas contiguous • Define planning areas within existing attendance areas • Where possible, define planning areas within intersections of major arterial roads, highways, creeks, and fenced-in structures (i.e., planning area boundaries do not cross these types of roads, hydrographic features, and other cultural features)
