Facts about MCHS Trimester System • Two Trimesters = 1 year’s worth of coursework • Students take 4 or 5 classes a day • 70 min. class periods • 3 trimesters per year – Each tri 12 weeks long • Classes & teachers may change each trimester What this means for you: • More room for electives! More academic electives make you a more competitive applicant for college! • Flexibility in schedule! • Freshmen can have “Off Roll” 1 st or 5 th period.

Enter by COURSE number as listed on the Course Request Worksheet. • For two part courses, (English1-2) be sure to enter BOTH course numbers.

Tips for choosing classes • For English, Math, Science and World Language placement, talk with your current teachers and have them recommend the course you should take in 9 th grade. • Read the course descriptions carefully for electives. • Don’t forget Alternates! Enter 1 st choices as part of your 15 classes. At the bottom of the screen you will enter and rank Alternates for Electives and World Language.
