C O U R S E D E S C R I P T I O N o A higher-level English course elective o Students are trained to tutor their peers in the field of writing. o Students complete creative, non-fiction writing assignments in class. o Students communicate with teachers, run the Wolverine Writing Center, and develop promotional materials and other class-related projects to enhance the center.

W R I T I N G C E N T E R T U T O R I N G R E Q U I R E M E N T S o Students are TRAINED to tutor. No prior experience is required. o Students tutor during class on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. o Students are required to volunteer during one Den Time per week.

W H Y T A K E T H E W R I T I N G C E N T E R C L A S S ? o It enhances a college resume. o Students become stronger writers – both by tutoring and by getting direct, detailed feedback. o It’s fun, creative, and laid - back. There is VERY little work required outside of class!
