VH1 Presentation “CRACK THE VAULT CODE”
Contest Description • • The Crack The Vault contest will happen like this. For four consecutive Friday’s in the month of September 2014, the station will announce 1 number each hour on the hour between 5 and 9 PM. This announcement will be made via a station made commercial. Thus, there will be a total of 5 numbers drawn on a given Friday. THE 10TH PERSON TO TEXT4922 TO 35792 WILL THEN HAVE THE CHANCE TO CRACK THE VAULT AND BE ENTERED INTO A DRAWING TO WIN THE CONTEST. The winner of the final drawing will receive a 10% down payment towards the purchase of a home or a maximum of $25,000 cash towards the purchase of a home, whichever $ amount is less.

Target Demographic •VH1 target demographic is women in the 18-34 age range and all adults in the 18-49 age range. The “Crack The Vault” contest would appeal to this age range since the vast majority of first time home buyers fall within these age ranges. It is our belief that people in this age range who have not viewed VH1 prior to the announcement of this contest would be drawn to watch the channel.
Data Analytics • •After the first Friday of the contest, VH1 could review its numbers to determine if the station’s contest increased its viewership in the 18-34 age range for women as well as 18- 49 age range for all adults. If the viewership numbers significantly increased, the station could attribute that increase to the “Crack The Vault” contest.
Miscellaneous •VH1 believes that for young married couples, the women are the ones who makes the majority of decisions concerning buying a home. Thus, since the largest demographic for VH1 viewers is women in the 18-34 age range, it makes sense to have a contest which targets this specific group. The station believes this contest would create a buzz and attract additional female as well as male viewers
