Vaping / E-Cigarettes ► Act of inhaling vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or vaporizer. Usually produced from a liquid called e-juice or e-liquid. (Vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol as well as flavoring) ► May or may not contain nicotine. ► Looks thicker than traditional cigarette smoke. Also tends to smell better and quickly dissipates into the air. ► Many purchase online or obtain from older sibling. ► Are illegal if possessed by someone under 21 years of age. ► Mostly done due to peer pressure.

Signs of Vaping ► Sweet smells ► Irritability ► Vaping paraphernalia ► Dry mouth
Vaping / E-Cigarettes Where are students vaping? ► Bathrooms ► Hallways ► Classrooms ► Vehicles ► Pretty much anywhere they can get away with it.
Scariest Part… ► Nicotine is highly addictive ► Unknown what is actually inside the liquid ► Drug dealers have been known to put liquid meth and heroin inside the vape pods or dispensers in order to get kids addicted to harsher drugs.
Health Consequences of VAPING ➤ Vaping - originally marketed as a smoking cessation aide ➤ Nicotine - ADDICTION especially harmful in youth and teens ➤ EVALI (e-cigarette/vaping associated lung injury) ➤ Other harmful ingredients ➤ Unknown long-term health effects ➤ Faulty batteries exploding
What can you do? ► Talk to your kids about vaping and the dangers of becoming addicted. ► Randomly search your kids backpacks, rooms, clothing if you suspect they might be vaping. ► Talk to the School Resource Officer or School Administrators if you feel your child needs some extra attention in reference to vaping or drugs.
