Cultural Property Cultural property is the most distinguishing form of a culture’s expression. It is a culture’s archaeological remains, ethnological materials, art, and architecture, its historically and politically important memorabilia, literature, traditional dance, customs and ceremonies, and whatever else, tangible or intangible, is believed crucial for defining a people, community or country. Traditional Knowledge A unique cumulative body of knowledge and practices related to the natural environment of a specific geographic area developed by a people over generations.. Cultural property is often considered to be the physical manifestation or expression of traditional knowledge. 3
