Responding to the Rochford Review The Small Step PEP acknowledges the distinction between two types of learners in made in the Rochford Review • Subject specific learners working at P4 or above • Non-subject specific learners working below P4
200 small steps to describe current attainment For non-subject specific learners • Steps 0-43 allowing recording of both the last key milestone reached and number of milestones achieved altogether -milestones based on Quest for Learning/Routes for Learning For subject specific learners • Steps 40-200 allowing small steps to be recorded for Reading, Writing, Mathematics and other subjects as appropriate.
The Small step PEP is a pilot • The use of the small step PEP will be monitored and reviewed over the course of this academic year with our family of special schools so that it can be better tailored to need as information becomes available. • As before, please upload any documents to the PEP that support the story you are telling of your pupil’s attainment and progress and indicate you have done this in the notes on the relevant page of the PEP
