About me: • I am first generation college student who is heavily involved with different organizations on campus seeking to complete my undergraduate degree in civil engineering. • Greek Life, Residence Life, American Society of Civil Engineers, TRiO, LSAMP, OpSTEM and intramural sports • Expected Graduation: Spring 2019 (Bachelor’s)/ Spring 2020 (Master’s) • I have recently been accepted into the 4+1 Accelerated Master’s Program for Civil Engineering here at Cleveland State University • Since the Fall 0f 2015 I have had the pleasure of working for the Math Department with the Operation STEM program. In the Spring of 2017, I began assisting with the LSAMP Mentoring program.
The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Mentoring Program Assistant Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is a program of the National Science Foundation that assists universities and colleges in their efforts to significantly increase the numbers of students matriculating into and successfully completing high quality degree programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines in order to diversify the STEM workforce.
Cleveland State University LSAMP Program • Cleveland State is a partner in the Ohio LSAMP Alliance, headquartered at The Ohio State University. CSU's LSAMP program is part of Math Department's Operation STEM where we help underrepresented minorities improve their personal and professional skills. • The LSAMP Scholars participate in an early arrival program, academic and retention advisement, tutoring and supplemental instruction, professional workshops, the Ohio LSAMP Alliance Conference and peer mentoring. • Our LSAMP mentoring program serves as a peer-to-peer experience for the scholars to be paired with someone in their field in order to help provide them with taking steps towards graduation.
