OUR NEW TAGLINE PEN America embarked on a rebranding project earlier this year in search of a way to more clearly and consistently reflect our dynamic work celebrating and defending free expression. Through workshops with staff, members, the Trustees, and outside experts, we arrived at the logo with its accompanying tagline, The Freedom to Write The new tagline speaks to the powerful, liberating act of creating and to the challenges to this free expression that too many face.
OUR NEW BRAND MARK The mark is seen as suggestive of both an open book to symbolize our identity as a literary organization driven by a community of writers, and of a speech or thought bubble to demonstrate our wider embrace of the free flow of ideas.
