Capitalizing on This Moment • We must double down on our efforts to address the issues facing our region. • These are conditions ripe with possibility . • We must recommit ourselves to providing real economic equity . • We must create new processes and governance models that work for ALL our residents . • We now have to do what before people said was too fast, too expensive, or just plain too hard. We are all #InThisTogether 25
@Bruce_Katz • Respected thought leader we need to be listening to even more now • In a recent article Katz offers recipe to address racial & ethnic inequities • Presents specific solutions that focus on building regional networks that professionalize and make permanent the public, private, civic response to the crisis and continued aftermath of stresses • As we move through the stages of this crisis from Relief to Recovery, we are thinking a lot about MBEP’s role in this transformational and economically-inclusive rebuild 26
