Short Curriculum Vitae Professor Vassilis Moustakis (Vasa) Current Position: Professor at the Department of Production Engineering and Management. Director, Management Systems Laboratory (www.logistic.tuc.gr) Professional Society Membership: Greek Chamber of Engineers National Committee for Spin Off / Spin Out company assessment Chairman of TUC Professors Association and member of the Governing Board, Greek University Professors Federation. Elected annually for the last 4 years continuously. Referee: Numerous journals and International Conferences (Machine Learning, Bioinformatics) Projects: Numerous projects funded via the EU, National Agencies and International Organizations. Managed 3 Tempus projects (Serbia, Egypt).
History of TUC Established in 1977. Admitted students in 1984 – Department of Production Engineering & Management. Main campus is outside the city of Chania (west part of Crete) with offices / buildings also inside Chania. It is the 2 nd integrated Engineering University in Greece (first being the Technical University of Athens). Still remains the second.
TUC Todeay TUC is a state university TUC has about 2.500 undergraduate students and 485 postgraduate students (MS and PhD). Faculty includes 125 members plus another 48 adjunct professors and 35 researchers. Six departments
TUC Departments 1. Sciences – provides basic science courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, and Humanities to all other Departments. 2. Production Engineering and Management. In between Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. 3. Mineral Resources Engineering. 4. Electrical Engineering. Specializes in electronics, energy, software engineering, and hardware. 5. Environmental Engineering. 6. Architecture. All departments – except Architecture, offer postgraduate studies (MS) and doctoral studies.

Student Life Each department has a Union of students There is Union of all TUC students Students participate in Departmental Assembly (50% of Faculty) Students participate in University Senate (one student per Department) Participation includes full voting rights. Restaurants, study rooms, Library, Dormitory, extensive housing and financial support.
International Cooperation And Projects TEMPUS FP7 Erasmus Mundus Health For research there exists a Research Committee. Funding about 4 - 5 million euro per year.
