Twin Ports Interchange (TPI) 2019 Work & Traffic Restrictions Pavement Rehabilitation (June – August) 46 th Avenue W (night) 27 th Avenue W & restriping (night) Garfield Avenue & restriping Single lane in each direction for 6-8 weeks Intersection with Railroad Street closed for 2 weeks Railroad Street Flagger control – 3-5 days New Rail Crossings by BNSF (May) 4 locations and one removal Closure of Railroad Street for 2-3 days
Twin Ports Interchange (TPI) 2020 Work & Traffic Restrictions • Replace the 27 th Avenue W Bridge • Replace storm sewer, lift station and gas line along Lower Michigan Street • Ramps will remain open, no cross traffic • Close Lower Michigan Street • Replace the Miller/Coffee Creek culvert and profile correction on I-35 • Start two bridges in interchange • Single lane in each direction on I-35 from Ore Docks to • NB I-35 to SB I-535 Garfield • 22 nd Avenue West closed for a month • NB I-535 to NB I-35 • Ramps from SB T.H. 53 to SB I-35 and NB I-35 to NB • No traffic impacts T.H. 53 closures • Miscellaneous Work (rail, cameras) • Repair old Piedmont from First to Third Streets and signalize Michigan and • Major work including T.H. 53 closure in 2021-2022 Superior Street intersection • Lane Closures
Pedestrian traffic maintained to Superior Street entries during normal business hours, except for short, coordinated periods. Pedestrian access route along Superior Street between Avenues maintained on at least one block face at all times. Access During Building deliveries will need to be Construction facilitated by building owners / businesses from locations off Superior Street such as Michigan Street oralley. Avenue access may be limited at any given time. Avenue vehicle traffic will be maintained where practicable for each phase as shown in phasing plans.
