  8. London Permit Scheme • The London Permit Scheme was introduced in January 2010 • RBK adopted the scheme in March 2013 • A permit scheme gives the local authority greater control over road and street works activities

Types of Permit • There are 4 types of permit available to works promoters • Major – Works over 10 days or require a closure, 3 month lead in time • Standard – Works between 4-10 days, 10 days lead in time • Minor – Works between 1-3 days, 3 days lead in time • Immediate – Works that cannot be delayed (Leaks etc) • Lead in times should be followed, but early starts can be given where it is reasonable to

  10. Income Generation • Cost neutral • Income generated from many sources • Permit Charges • Reinstatement Defects • Overrunning works (Section 74) • FPNs • Road Closures
