Stamford Welland Academy Exercise book presentation Why do we expect excellent presentation? The way that a student perceives the importance of the work set by a teacher is reflected in the presentation of their books. The standards that are expected and accepted by a teacher indicate to the student the importance of the work set. Excellent presentation of work enables easier marking, feedback and assessment. It also allows students to reflect on their work or use the work as a revision aid for assessments. In order to make this clearer we have devised a simple set of standards for staff and students to work by. The standards All students should frame their work with a date and title every lesson. These should be underlined with a ruler. Students should write in blue or black pen. Diagrams, graphs and charts should be drawn in pencil and rulers used for straight lines. One neat line should be drawn through mistakes No graffiti. In cases where these standards are not met, the class teacher should ask the students to correct their work until it does. This can be done verbally or during marking.
