External Stakeholders Feedback Form: Additional Thoughts on Outreach • Secure funding • Provide frequent and concise outreach with all stakeholders • Tap into partner lists and channels • Identify places with crash histories and ask about experiences • Meet people where they are (eg. bus stops, metro stations, trails) • Tailor messages to audiences (eg. kids, languages) • Utilize blogs and local writers • Prioritize historically underserved communities and vulnerable users • Make it clear how feedback will be used • Use language that includes all modes (eg. “transportation” and “mobility”) • Show commitment from County leadership & Board • Ensure action, not just talk! 15

Why Pop-Ups? • Expand the scope of engagement to be more inclusive • Reach people not likely to attend public meeting/complete online form • Held at pre-existing events to take advantage of large groups of people who may not be aware of Vision Zero • Could include events at high-traffic locations (eg. Metro stations) as a secondary alternative • Allow for substantial conversation to define the topic and ask for thoughtful feedback • Follow a simple format: • Vision Zero overview board • “To me, transportation safety means…” activity • Hand-out cards to provide info and lead participants to the website 16
