Fire Department In Wrangell the Fire department building serves multiple purposes like the police and EMS facilities, It is also a DMV. Here we have multiple buildings for these things. In Wrangell The only people that get payed are the captains, so everyone else is a volunteer. There it is harder to get new technology as frequently because of how rural it is. It's harder to get things like new trucks and other equipment.
Stikine River and TMNT Stikine River was a great experience to see the wilderness, surrounding wrangell. It was a super fun, we got to see sea lions and birds. It was a good way to spend the afternoon. The Tongass National Forest is where Wrangell is located and we got to see the TNF building where they do most of the work about the forest. We got to learn more about the national forest and learn about the different plants and animals that live in the forest. The TNF building is pretty interesting.
Tlingit Clan House & language class Today we were lucky to join an elementary tlingit class and learn a few tlingit words, their whole class is only about 14 kids! Later that week we were welcomed inside the tlingit clan house as they told and danced their stories about their culture and history.
Hospital The Hospital isn’t large enough to hold seriously injured patients, but they are still a loving staff with great hospitality. The entire building was a lot smaller than the one here. It was only two floors and the CT scan needed to be in a separate mobile workspace, kind of like an RV. Although that's not a bad thing because it makes the place feel more tight knit and hand on.
Rainbow Falls Rainbow falls is a recreational hiking point in Wrangell. Just like the Butte in Palmer, it is a common outdoor attraction for people in Wrangell.
Petroglyph Beach Petroglyph Beach is a historical beach in Wrangell. It has ancient rock carvings, also known as petroglyphs.
Starburst tower on the plane. In the airport being welcomed by the Wrangell students.
About to get on the boat. On the boat
Beach on the stikine river. learning tlingit at the elementary school.
My favorite part was when we went to petroglyph beach and when we went to the rainbow trail hike. They were the most fun in my opinion. -Juliann Julianns favorite things we did in Wrangell
