Closing of Houses Memo initially issued from Residence Life on 3/26/14 outlining full details for Chapters. Key highlights : • All Chapter property needs removed from the houses by 5pm on Sunday, June 1, 2014. • Access to storage rooms will begin as early as Monday, March 31, and be by appointment. • Only items that will be utilized in the new houses should be moved to storage. 3
Closing of Houses • Please DONATE any items that the Chapter will no longer need/utilize in the new houses. The WYMO program through the Office of Sustainability has provided details regarding how to donate to NW Ohio Goodwill. • Questions specific to vacating of houses? 4
Interim Housing • 2014-15 Agreements were issued to Chapter Presidents earlier this week via email. Due by May 1 • At least 90% of interim beds need to be filled by May 1 • Access to interim housing for members not assigned to the live in the building • Personalization/Decorating of Common Space 5
Update on Inventory Lists of Items to Save • We have the inventories that many of you submitted regarding items that you wanted removed from the houses. We will share those with the contractor next week to determine feasibility. We will be in touch with individual groups by late in April. • Many of the items listed are furniture or Chapter property = Chapter Responsibility to remove • Reminders: – All requests may not be possible to accommodate – Costs associated with the removal of items may be passed along to the chapter 6
Bricks • Chapters requesting bricks should send the following to Shelly Schwamberger mschwam@bgsu.edu at by May 9: – Chapter Name, Total # Bricks Requested, House #/Name if known, Chapter Contact for brick pick up this summer • A date and pick up location for Chapters to retrieve the bricks will be established once demolition schedules are set. If not picked up by the deadline, the bricks will be disposed of. • Requests will be honored, but please understand: – Demolition and partial brick possibility – Overall demand vs. Availability 7
Project Update • Criteria Architect for the project will be CBT Architects, located out of Boston, MA • Design Build Team will be led by Elford, Inc. as the Construction Management firm, with architectural servicse by Schooley Caldwell Associates, both located out of Columbus, OH • Upcoming Meetings to engage FSL Community 8
