  3. Who? • Who were some of the individual people or groups involved in what you are researching?

  4. What? • What happened? • Explain the subject your are researching.

  5. When? • When did the subject take place? • Not always a specific date

  6. Where? • Where did the subject take place? • Not always a specific address.

  7. Why? • Why was the subject you are researching important?

  8. How? • How did this effect society? • How did it effect the community around them?

  9. Project: • Each group will be assigned a topic relating to the coming of the Revolutionary War. • The group will create a visual presentation of their topic. • The group will then present their topic to the class.

  10. Step 1: Content Each group should make sure that the following information is included in their project: • Who was involved with your topic? • When did the event in your topic happen? • Where did the event in your topic occur? • What is your topic about? • Why is your topic an important part of American History? • How did your topic effect society?

  11. Step 1: Content (continued) • If each question is answered and explained the group will receive 2 points for each question. • If each question is answered, but not explained, the group will receive 1 point for the question. • If a question is missed the group will receive 0 points for that question.

  12. Step 2: Visual Presentation Each group will produce a visual aid for their presentation. • The group can choose to do a large poster, several smaller posters, a story board, or a powerpoint. • If the group comes up with another way of presenting the material visually they may ask the teacher for approval. • On the back of the visual or last slide if powerpoint is being used, the group will provide a resource list of at least 3 different resources

Step 2: Visual Presentation (continued) The group will be awarded 10 points if all of the following are present in their visual presentation: • At least 3 graphics (pictures, charts, clip art, ect …) • The text on the slides or posters is readable and concise. (Do NOT write paragraphs on you visual) • Visual is neat and free of damage • Resource list is included

  14. Step 2: Visual Presentation (continued) • Groups will lose points if any of the criteria are missing or are not followed from the previous slide.

  15. Step 3: Oral Presentation Each group will teach their topic to the class in a 7-10 minute presentation. • Students must touch on all of the 6 essential questions for history. • Students who are listening will be expected to be able to answer multiple choice questions at the end of the presentations on all of the topics presented in their class

  16. Step 3: Oral Presentation (Continued) Each group will be awarded 10 points if all of the following are present in their oral presentation: • All 6 questions were answered for the class • Voices were loud and clear • The group members are professional • Teacher is able to come up with at least 2 multiple choice questions from the information presented
