RMT MTA Bri ridg dge e In Inspecti pections ons All 36 bridges are inspected on a biannual basis 8 bridges contain fracture critical members that must be inspected on a yearly basis 14 bridges require element level inspections 9 bridges require CSX and/or NS Entry Agreements Ability to secure agreements before inspections begin is mandatory (July 2017) 4 bridges contain submerged elements which are inspected every 5 years A portion of submerged elements on 1 bridge is inspected every 2 years due to existing cracking All bridge safety inspection reports shall be submitted by the GEC on behalf of the RMTA to VDOT upon completion
