Overview • Cleaning schedule: • We made an agreement to have extra cleanings/restroom supplies in specific floors for the summer, for example the 10th floor and Atrium floor • For the rest of the year, when we have a Monday holiday, there will be extra restroom supplies on Friday • Office space: • The office space at Wilson is tight for some floors, for example the 10 and 12 floors • We have rooms that hold too many post-docs on floors 10 and 12 (one floor with 11 post-docs in one office) • We are starting a working group to evaluate the office space at Wilson, goals: • Collect some statistics about the current office spaces, we will contact the landlords from each department/floor • See if there is a way to have a better arrangements for some offices • For example, if there are offices for professors/visitors that are used just for a fraction of the time during the year, explore/encourage the possibility for sharing offices • Progress: Meredith Ament is making a survey for users to get feedback about the office space at Wilson • Feedback about the new cafeteria: we made a survey to get feedback from users 2 Minerba Betancourt 06/10/16

Suggestions • Bring old breakfast selection back, especially the Apple Cinnamon Breadstick, even if it’s only available once per week. • Bring back cheap co ff ee. • I wish there would be more vegetarian alternatives (and I don’t mean just replacing meat with tofu). • Less sugary dishes for e.g. breakfast. Muesli with yogurt no additives. • More vegetarian options! • Important: there appears to be NO reference to the food service on the FNAL web site. Please get in touch with the webmaster and get yourselves on! (At least, Letty, the manager, is in the phone book, but you have to know who she is before you can find her.) • Half-portions particularly for the breakfast pastries. They’re huge. • I would like to see more a’la carte. I don’t eat fries and drink soda/tea etc., and would like to pay just for the sandwich rather than items I have to throw away or not use. More gluten free items would be nice. • I have been asking since the new management took over to reintroduce the fish in the menu. It will be really nice if you can consider to introduce halal/kosher meat at least once a week and I am pretty sure there is a big community who will be happy with this stance. I understand that these foods are bit expensive (like organic), but I think if there is an option, then people wont mind paying higher. • More nutrition info for ingredients please, especially sodium content 8 Minerba Betancourt 06/10/16

FeedBack • The new cafeteria has nearly eliminated vegetables from the menu except from the salad bar. It’s no impossible to both eat anything there that is both healthy and enjoyable. • Compared to the previous management: Quantities are smaller prices are higher, quality is slightly better. • The new cafeteria has nearly eliminated vegetables from the menu except from the salad bar. It’s no impossible to both eat anything there that is both healthy and enjoyable. • The food portion is too little and cost too much. • The changes in the cafeteria have increased prices, reduced choices and food quality, and have made it unappealing to purchase a meal at the lab. Thanks for encouraging me to start bringing lunches. • napkin dispenser is a disaster, need new and su ffi cient metal utensils and trays, current ones are too old and yucky - VERY wasteful to use plastic utensils, station for utensils and spices is impractical, too small for too many people. the best thing about the cafeteria is the people working there! glad they stayed after the switch • It still isn’t the CERN cafeteria but it is better than it was, quality wise, which is what we complained about. Due to the price increase I am less inclined to eat there now. • The vegetarian options are obviously just there to cover a request. They are tasteless versions of one of the main courses usually. • Annoyed that you do not take American Express credit card any more. 10 Minerba Betancourt 06/10/16
FeedBack • • they ran out of the special more than once. They also don’t always print ingredients on the display like the old buisness did. • Sometimes it happens to you are stuck at meeting and end up eating at 14:00 or later. There are some left over sandwiches, but none of them are vegetarian! • The soups seem oversalted. • soups are expensive vs size, salad bar has improved, not enough choices, before there were at least two entries and choices of vegetables, I do not consider the ”special salads” as normal entree. So most of the times I end up making my own from salad bas since normal entree is expensive I don’t consider sandwiches as main entree and it happened again today 11 Minerba Betancourt 06/10/16
