  2. Need for Current Proposal 2  The District is responsible for issuing and annually renewing permits to stationary sources of air pollution  All permitted facilities are required to pay an annual operating fee (permit renewal fee) pursuant to Rule 40-Permit and Other Fees

  3. Need for Current Proposal 3  On May 5, 2020, the APCD directed the district to take the necessary steps to implement a deferral of permit renewal fees for a period of six months.

  4. Need for Current Proposal 4  To provide businesses extra time to recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic  Facilitate the reopening of closed businesses once the health order is lifted.

  5. Proposed Rule Amendment 5  Permit renewal fees normally due between July 1 and December 31, 2020, will be due instead by December 31, 2020.

  6. What happens next? 6  Board consideration on June 24 th .  If approved, invoice renewals for the period July thru December 2020 will be mailed out as normal with a letter providing additional information.

  7. Important Notes 7  Permit expiration dates are also deferred. Regardless of the expiration date on the permit itself, all permits associated with deferred Annual Operating Fees will instead expire on December 31, 2020, if the fees have not been paid.  You may pay your fees at any time prior to 5 PM on December 31, 2020.

  8. Important Notes 8  Late fees will accrue after December 31, 2020. Payments made after 5 PM on December 31, 2020 will be subject to the late fee provisions of District Rule 40(g).  The payment process is the same. There will be no changes to methods of payment. You may still pay by check and credit card .

  9. Important Notes 9  This is a one-time deferral . The fee deferral only applies to fees due between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. The original renewal month for your permit will not change.
